Masahiko Inoue, a famous Japanese catoonnist who made SLAM-DUNK, was once a stundet here.

The Gokou Memorial Hall
There is a memorial hall which is designated as an important cultural property by the Japanese government. Goko is a former high school under the old system of education.
There were the eight high schools; the first one was the old Tokyo University. Goko was the former Kumamoto University. And it is the only school that has been completely preserved from the past.
